How to Clean Your Check Scanner

Check scanner cleaning

Prerequisites:

Download the ScanLite2 attachment to this article
Check scanner cleaning card
Can of compressed air
Isopropyl alcohol
Microfiber cloth
Soft cotton swabs or similar

Please read these instructions in full before proceeding into the check scanner cleaning process.

1. Open up check ScanLite2 and wait for it to initialize. Once it has opened, click the “Clean” button and verify the program is running correctly.  Click it again to stop the process.
   
   
2. Now that we have verified that ScanLite2 is working we can open the check scanner cleaning card and begin the cleaning process. Pull out the check ejection tray fully,  click the “Clean” button, and proceed to run the cleaning card through the scanner at least 4-5 times.  The card will only remain useable for around 60-90 seconds so be sure you are able to immediately start the cleaning process after opening the cleaning card.
   
   
3. Once you have finished the initial cleaning click “Clean” again to stop the scanner. Now verify the scanner is working correctly by using the “Scan” button in ScanLite2 to capture an image of an OLD check.  Once you have verified the scanner is working correctly you may exit out of ScanLite2.
